Charity Event at Horseguards Parade, Whitehall

We were honoured to be asked to be part of this huge event held at Horseguards Parade, Whitehall, London. It was a charity auction followed by a live band and we used our unique mobile studio and portable production unit (PPU) system - The Trickbox® - perfect for filming live music multi-camera.

We had two cameras at the back of the marquee on tripods and one hand held at the front, by the stage. The marque was massive so we were shooting a distance of 55 metres from the two cameras at the back. We had to use a couple of fairly long lenses – a Canon HJ40 and a Canon HJ22. The Canon HJ40 was almost bigger than the camera itself!

For the hand held camera, we used an IDX CamWave Wevi – which is a wonderful bit of kit. It works on 5.2Ghz wireless WiFi and transmits full 1080i HD. It needs a good line of sight and only has a range of up to around 50 metres. But for the cost to either buy or hire, it’s a good little box of tricks to have.

The whole event went really well and we were so pleased we could be part of it.

Multi-Camera Conference at The Guildhall, London

Our day began (rather reluctantly) at around 5:30am and after navigating ourselves back and forth over London Bridge several times – watch that little slip road on the north side – we arrived at the historic, Guildhall, City of London. What an amazing building! And how honured we were to be asked to film The Sound Money Conference, hosted by Cheviot Asset Management. The Guildhall, Old Library It had been months in the planning and it was finally here. The conference was held in the Old Library – a magnificent, grandiose room, as long as it was high. We had just two hours to set up – which included all the video side of the things, plus the set, staging, lighting, projector, powerpoint presentations etc. Quite a feat but the team were great and professional to the end. We were using our Multi-Camera Portable Production Unit – The Trickbox – neatly hiding at the back of the Old Library. We used 3 of our Panasonic HPX371 cameras – discreetly hidden by the huge pillars in the room. The Trickbox Mobile Studio Jeremy Jacobs, the MC for the conference was great and helped make sure the event ran smoothly. There was a fully packed schedule of speakers, including: David Morgan, Ned Naylor-Leyland, Dominic Frisby, Hugo Salinas-Price and James Turk. The whole day went without a hitch and I think we all learnt something about Gold and Silver! The Trickbox Portable Production Unit (PPU) A few lovely words from the client:

" Thank you so much for today. The conference couldn’t have run more smoothly – all the speakers commented on how professional your team were. You guys were absolutely amazing and no amount of praise would do you credit. "
